As I’ve moved my life back to the Mac I’ve found most applications I use are easily replaced with a Mac compatible version.  There are a few titles I have had to adapt to but overall it’s been a pleasant experience.  The one field that seems to be severly lacking is blogging tools.  On PC there is a fantastic program called Windows Live Writer by Microsoft that is the best blogging tool I have yet seen.  The Mac world is severely lacking in this department and I have yet to find a suitable replacement for WLW.

I’ve tried a few different tool, as recommended by others.  Ecto was the best one I used but it is still far less complete and easy as Windows Live Writer.  The image tools, video support, and layout are sad to say the least.

Does anyone know of a blog client for Mac that has the ease of use, power, and versatile tools as Window Live Writer?  I would hate to think that such a prevalent field such as blogging has been this overlooked in the Mac community.

(Update 02.11.09)  After using Ecto a bit more I’ve found it handles images well, if not as easily as WLW.  I think it will be my client of choice on Mac until something better comes along.
