It’s been a few more weeks now with the BlackBerry Storm and I wanted to give a little update as to daily usage thoughts.

I still love my Storm. I’ve come to realize a couple things that may cause some trouble for some:

• Not For Beginners

The standard OS that comes on the Storm is junk. Most horrible reviews are because of this buggy and incomplete OS. To get a truly great experience from the BB Storm you’ll need to update to a beta/hybrid OS. Sadly, the process of updating and using beta software is not for the beginner. Unless you really know what you’re doing you could easily brick your phone and have to rebuild it. This problem makes the Storm only truly useful to BB adept individuals. Without the updates, the Storm is buggy as hell.

• Slow To Launch

There are countless apps available for BlackBerries. The Storm seems to be kind of a last thought these days and there are a few great titles still not available for it. If you need every app available right away, you’re going to be disappointed. That being said, most apps work wonderfully on the Storm and the few that don’t usually have an alternative for now.

I am not considering trading in my Storm for the next device when it releases. I know there are plenty who hate the Storm but with a little tweaking it can quickly become the best looking, versatile device out there. My wife and I still love our phones, BB blasphemy be damned.
